KUALA LUMPUR: General Corp Bhd saw a net profit of RM25.34 million for the fourth quarter ended Jan 31, 2010 (4QFY2010), from a net loss of RM10.2 million a year earlier, on the constructions of several projects.

The construction firm said in a filing to Bursa Malaysia on March 31 that the construction of the Hard Rock Hotel at Sentosa, Meritus Mandarin Hotel at Orchard Road and the commencement of the new project at Serangoon Central Mall, all in Singapore, have made significant contributions to its revenue and profit.

Its revenue for the quarter increased 23% to RM407.43 million, from RM331.34 million. Its basic earnings per share for the quarter is 8.49 sen, compared with basic loss per share of 3.43 sen the previous year.

It declared a dividend of three sen for the quarter.
