HOMEDEC 2011 eyes 10% growth in business transactions

KUALA LUMPUR: Renowned home decor exhibition, HOMEDEC 2011, is aiming to register a business transaction growth of 10% over the RM110 million registered last year.

The sixth edition of HOMEDEC 2011, will be held in two parts over four consecutive days each.

The first part of the event began Thursday, Oct 20 at the Kuala Lumpur Convention Centre (KLCC), with the second to be held from Oct 27-30.

HOMEDEC 2011 had previously been staged in Penang, Sabah and Johor respectively.

C I S Network Sdn Bhd president and exhibition organiser Vincent Lim said the exhibition was being held again this year in Kuala Lumpur, given the increasing demand for home deco products.

"We are expecting more than 120,000 visitors for both weeks that the exhibition is being held," he told Bernama after launching the exhibition on Thursday.

He said both parts of the exhibition will boast more than 1,300 booths by 400 companies.

Lim said HOMEDEC, when staged last year in Kuala Lumpur, was the first time it or any other exhibition, had been held over two parts.
