IPOH: ibis Styles Ipoh opened its doors in January, making it the first international hotel in town and its third in Malaysia, after ibis Styles Fraser Business Park and ibis Styles Cheras in Kuala Lumpur.

“At ibis Styles Ipoh, we hope to cater for both business and leisure travellers,” said general manager Charanita Gill. To celebrate the opening of ibis Styles Ipoh, the hotel is offering an introductory rate from RM178 net per night.

Charanita said ibis Styles Ipoh is an “all-inclusive” Accor brand with a package that includes the room, an all-you-can-eat breakfast and broadband Internet connection. Located in city centres or activity centres, each establishment under the brand has a bright, energetic decor. Accor, is a leading hotel operator and market leader in Europe, with a presence in 92 countries with nearly 3,500 hotels and 440,000 rooms.

The designer of the Ipoh hotel Chin S Chin, an Australia-based architect and interior designer with SCHIN Architects, said, “ibis Styles Ipoh is where you can return to rejuvenate in a calming sanctuary. Guests can freely move, watch and feel the hotel transform and reveal its own layers of character that resonate a feeling of freshness and vibrancy.”

The hotel’s 113 rooms comprise four single rooms, 60 twin rooms, 46 double rooms and three suites.The interior design is inspired by the Pomelo fruit for which Ipoh is renowned, with hues of citrus that exude a sense of freshness. The rooms are designed with modern furniture and amenities with a clean, contemporary look complemented by vivid colours.

The hotel’s all-day restaurant, sTREATs, offers a variety of local and international dishes. The décor is inspired by Ipoh’s bustling night markets and kopitiams.

The hotel offers four modern and well-equipped function rooms to accommodate business guests and meeting delegates. Perched on the hotel’s roof terrace is the exclusive Mù bar with views of Ipoh’s skyline.

Located close to shops, businesses and entertainment outlets off Jalan Sultan Iskandar, the hotel is 10 minutes by car from the Sultan Azlan Shah Airport and four minutes from the Ipoh Railway Station, Ipoh Old Town, Parkson Ipoh Parade Mall and Royal Perak Golf Club.

The brand already has plans to expand in Malaysia. According to a statement issued by the company, it has five more developments in the pipeline. There will also be plans for development in Sabah and Sarawak.

ibis Styles, formerly named All Seasons, is an international chain of economy hotels launched by Accor in 2007. These establishments, which are mostly managed under franchise agreements, combine the charm of independent hotels with a high level of service quality

The ibis Styles network already comprises about 180 hotels worldwide. The brand is established in Europe (Germany, Britain, Italy, Spain and Luxembourg) and the Asia-Pacific (Australia, Indonesia, New Zealand and Malaysia).
