Ireka gets letter for RM65.05m MRT subcontract

KUALA LUMPUR (Nov 12): Ireka Corp Bhd's wholly-owned unit has accepted a Letter of Appointment (LoA) as subcontractor for a RM65.05 million job related to the construction of viaduct guideways and associated works for the Sungai Buloh to Kajang Mass Rapid Transit (MRT) line.

In its statement today (Monday), the company said Ireka Engineering & Constructions Sdn Bhd received the letter from Persys Sdn Bhd for Package V7 for the viaduct package from Bandar Tun Hussein Onn to Taman Mesra.

The statement, dated today, did not specify the date of the letter or when the letter was received for the project which is set to last for 47 months, or about four years.

Ireka expects the contract to contribute positively to earnings "for the financial years ending March 31, 2013 onwards".
