PORT DICKSON (Negri Sembilan): The Kampung Baru redevelopment plan will be presented to the Cabinet this Wednesday or next, Federal Territories and Urban Wellbeing Minister Datuk Raja Nong Chik Raja Zainal Abidin said.

He said once approved by the Cabinet, the redevelopment concept plan of Kampung Baru located in the Kuala Lumpur city centre, would be presented to the landowners and residents.

"We will make improvements if it does not get Cabinet approval. The details need studying as other stakeholders are also involved," he said after closing a seminar for Kuala Lumpur residents associations here on Monday April 26.

Raja Nong Chik said landowners would not be forced to accept the Cabinet decision but would be given a timeline to decide.

He said Kuala Lumpur City Hall (DBKL) had formed an action squad to address public facility maintenance problems like clogged drains, potholes, street lighting and falling trees.

The action squad formed on April 1 had been given a maximum of three working days to settle the problems.
Raja Nong Chik also announced an administration allocation of RM5,000 annually to residents associations registered in Kuala Lumpur.-- Bernama
