PETALING JAYA: Malaysia's first all-stars interactive wax museum, dubbed Red Carpet @ i-City, will open its doors  on Aug 15.

Speaking at the unveiling of the Red Carpet logo, I-Bhd executive chairman Tan Sri Lim Kim Hong said: "Red Carpet is Malaysia's first all-stars interactive wax museum in a 30,000 sq ft Oscar awards-like setting. We are expecting between 30,000 and 50,000 visitors per month."

"We constantly strive to bring in new attractions that are not already available in Malaysia for people to experience," said Lim.

I-Bhd director Monica Ong said Red Carpet was built at a cost of about RM25 million. Tickets will be priced at about RM80 for adults and RM40 for children. Family packages, such as RM160 for a family of four, will also be offered.

Other main attractions in i-City in Shah Alam include the City of Digital Lights, Fun World, Snowalk and WaterWorld.

Red Carpet will feature a total of 100 wax figures of famous people, from historical to contemporary personalities of today, in six themed sections, namely World Icons, Celebrities, Sport Stars, World Book of Records, All Stars Café and Interactive.

Developed by I-Bhd, i-City is a 72-acre (29ha) freehold township located along the Federal Highway.

I-City currently attracts about 90,000 visitors per week. The development comprises corporate towers, cyber office suites, serviced apartments, SoHos, hotels, theme park, and data centres.

A one million sq ft shopping mall (a joint development with Thailand's Central Pattana Group) is slated to open in 2016. i-City is endorsed as a tourism destination by the Ministry of Tourism, Arts and Culture, and has been declared an International Park by the Selangor government.
