Savills Rahim & Co wins Best Property Consultancy award

SINGAPORE: Savills Rahim & Co emerged winner in the Best Property Consultancy (Malaysia) category at the second South East Asia Property Awards, organised by multimedia publishing company Ensign Media.

The awards presentation function was held here on Wednesday.

Savills Rahim & Co executive chairman Senator Datuk Abdul Rahim said in a statement: “I would like to dedicate this award to the staff and management team of the company for their team spirit and hard work.”

Savills Rahim & Co began as Rahim & Co in 1976. In January 2008, it changed its name to Savills Rahim & Co after becoming part of a global network under the banner of international property services group Savills. It is now one of the largest and most established real estate consultancy firms in Malaysia.

Abdul Rahim said with a network of 18 offices nationwide and more than 500 affiliated offices worldwide, the consultancy is able to provide high quality services that combine the best of international standards with local know-how.

“With a national network servicing every state, we are able to provide expert localised services; providing accurate real estate advice while maintaining the same standard of service befitting a major property consultancy group.”

Savills covers markets throughout Europe, Asia Pacific, Americas, Africa and the Middle East. Established in 1855, Savills has become an internationally recognisable name.
Listed on the London Stock Exchange, Savills has extensive expertise in the global property market, with a recorded revenue of £721.5 million (RM3.5 billion) for the financial year 2011.

The South East Asia Property Awards had kicked off with nominations from the public and industry before entries were submitted, and this was followed by judging by a panel of professionals. Later, site visits were organised to short-listed developments in each category.

The awards feature 35 categories, including developer, development, real estate service, architecture and interior design. There is also a publisher’s choice award, the ‘Property Report Real Estate Personality of the Year’ award that went to Jose E B Antonio, chief executive officer of the Philippines-based Century Properties Group Inc.

Over 1,400 nominations were received and from those, over 300 entries. Sunway Bhd was the winner in the Best Developer (Malaysia) category while The Residences at Putra Heights by Sime Darby Property Bhd won in the Best Villa (Malaysia) category. The Haven Lakeside Residences by The Haven Sdn Bhd won the Best Condo (Malaysia) category.
