KUALA LUMPUR: SDB Damansara Sdn Bhd, the developer of Damansara 21, is currently waiting for further directives from Kuala Lumpur City Hall (DBKL) on its Damansara 21 project.

In an e-mail reply to theedgeproperty.com on the controversial Damansara 21 project, SDB Damansara said the company had submitted a proposal for a new layout of the development in September 2009 as requested by DBKL.

SDB Damansara said this in response to a news report on Oct 4 that DBKL would be calling for a meeting among all parties involved with the project within the next two weeks.

Kuala Lumpur Mayor Datuk Ahmad Fuad Ismail was quoted as saying that DBKL was waiting for a proper layout design the company had promised to submit.

“We continue to work closely with DBKL and are waiting for further directives from them,” the developer said.

On December 2008, the hillside project was halted by the authorities after two landslips were reported to have occurred.

The company had also been directed to fix the slopes.

Asked about the stop work order that was issued by DBKL on the Damansara 21 project last year, SDB Damansara said all slope stabilisation works have been completed and slope maintenance is on going.

“As a responsible developer, we are committed to adhering to safety standards and practices, and all development guidelines set by the relevant authorities,” SDB Damansara said.
