Sime Darby’s ‘The Residences’ named best Villa development in M’sia

KUALA LUMPUR (Jan 3): Sime Darby Property Bhd’s the Residences at Putra Heights has been named the Best Villa Development in Malaysia at the 2012 South East Asia Property Awards.

In a statement Thursday, the company said the regional accolade was presented to it at an event in Singapore recently.

It said the South East Asia Property Awards recognises contributions of the highest quality and standards from developers, agents, architects and designers from the all major property markets in the region including Thailand, Singapore, Malaysia, Indonesia, Philippines, Cambodia and Vietnam.

The Awards was organised by Ensign Media (Singapore) Pte. Ltd., publishers of the market-leading real estate publication, Property Report South East Asia, and was audited by BDO.

The panel of judges for the Awards consisted of highly reputable individuals from the real estate and related industries across the region.

Sime Darby Property managing director Datuk Abd Wahab Maskan said the award was all the more meaningful as the nominations must come from a party unrelated to the nominated company.

“We are honoured and thankful to those who have given the thumbs up to The Residences.”

“This Award is yet another affirmation of Sime Darby Property’s commitment towards developing innovative and high quality properties that embrace sustainability. It also showcased our strength in creating top-notched luxury residences that meet the needs of those with the most discerning taste and lifestyles,” he said.

The Residences is a luxury development consisting of 80 bungalows, all designed to provide comfort, quality and energy efficient solutions amidst a secure, tranquil and private environment.

Each home has a land area of between 5,800 sq ft to 9,500 sq ft.

‘Tropically inspired with a contemporary twist’ sums up the concept of the development.

While all homes in The Residences come with its own swimming pool, a roof-top terrace and a private elevator, each unit possesses individual characteristic that is unique.

In terms of sustainability, each home in The Residences was specifically designed to allow for more natural lighting and ventilation. Other environmentally-friendly elements include green tinted windows for heat reduction, rainwater harvesting system and a centralised waste management system.
