KUALA LUMPUR: Sime Darby Property Bhd, the property arm of the Sime Darby group, has sold almost all 255 units offered sale under the first series of its latest development, City of Elmina, during a recent soft launch.

The 255 link homes, valued at RM188.18 million, measured 20 x 88 (117 units), 24 x 79 (65 units) and 30 x 69 (73 units). The price per intermediate unit of these freehold properties ranged from RM599,888 to RM828,888.

The property developer recently managed to sell 51 vacant lots under the industrial component, measuring 95.46 acres (38.6ha), which generated a sales value of RM370.07 million.

Sime Darby Property managing director Datuk Wahab Maskan said in a statement yesterday the company plans to unveil its next phase of homes in City of Elmina by the fourth quarter of this year.

"When fully completed, City of Elmina will be a comprehensive township dedicated to the pursuit of a healthy and balanced lifestyle.

"Judging by the response to the soft launch, it is clear more and more Malaysian home buyers today are seeking to live in an environment that provides these qualities," said Wahab, who is also Sime Darby group COO.

City of Elmina is a 5,000-acre township located along the Guthrie Corridor Expressway. It features a 300-acre parkland, which is an extension of an existing 2,700-acre forest reserve beside the township.

The green township includes a 70km cycling track, a 42km jogging track and a cluster of retail shops, facilities and amenities centered on health and well-being.

"The safety and security of our residents is a priority which has been incorporated in the design stage of this township," Wahab said.

The township is developed in line with the Mercer's Quality of Living Survey, an internationally recognised standard that measures “liveability" in terms of safety, education, hygiene, healthcare, culture, environment, recreation, political and economic stability, and public transport.
