UEM Builders names Mohd Razin as new managing director

KUALA LUMPUR: Engineering-based conglomerate UEM Group Bhd has named Mohd Razin Ghazali as the new managing director of its wholly-owned subsidiary UEM Builders Bhd.

In a statement on Wednesday, Dec 8, UEM Group group managing director and chief executive officer Datuk Izzadin Idris said, Mohd Razin joined UEM Builders in August this year.

"The last three months has allowed him to form insights into the company, make a full assessment of our projects and the various challenges we currently face," he added.

Meanwhile, commenting on the opportunities for UEM Builders, Mohd Razin said the recently introduced Economic Transformation Programme (ETP) and its many strategic development and construction projects, will provide tremendous opportunities for the company and other players.

"This is especially so when it is awarded via competitive bids and in an open, transparent manner," he explained.

He also said the pressure is on for UEM Builders but the company was already setting itself apart.

"In addition to offering engineering and construction services, we are also providing clients with asset and facility management services, two of our core businesses," he added.

Mohd Razin holds a Bachelor of Science (Civil Engineering) degree from Old Dominion University in Norfolk, United States. He is a 22-year veteran of the engineering and construction industry.

Before joining UEM Builders, he was attached to MMC Saudi Arabia. He was responsible for the development of the masterplan and project management of Jazan Economic City at Jizan, worth US$30 billion (RM94.5 billion). — Bernama
