Kerjaya Prospek Group Bhd (KL:KERJAYA), which mainly builds homes, is bidding for the construction of data centres and semiconductor factories worth over RM3 billion this year.

Kerjaya Prospek Group Bhd’s (KL:KERJAYA) net profit for the first quarter ended March 31, 2024 grew 14% year-on-year to RM33.55 million from RM29.41 million on the back of a 13% rise in revenue to RM337.14 million versus RM297.25 million.

Organised together with the Malaysia Shopping Malls Association, the workshop aimed to upskill industry players and elevate the maintenance and refurbishment standards of shopping malls nationwide. 

Year-on-year quarterly net profit growth remained positive, despite a 17.6% drop in revenue to RM70.25 million in 1QFY2024, as compared to RM85.24 million a year earlier, thanks to an increase in other income logged.

Favelle Favco Bhd said it is spending A$39.8 million (RM123.98 million) to develop two units of single-storey logistic warehouses on its freehold land near Sydney, Australia.

MKH Bhd (KL:MKH) said its net profit fell 17.23% to RM20.74 million for its second quarter ended March 31, 2024 (2QFY2024), from RM25.06 million a year earlier, dragged down by lower unrealised foreign exchange gains. Earnings per share dropped to 3.59 sen from 4.34 sen previously.

Engineering and construction company Gamuda Bhd (KL:GAMUDA) announced on Friday that it has secured contracts worth a combined value of RM1.74 billion to build a hyperscale data centre for Sime Darby Property Bhd (KL:SIMEPROP) at the latter’s Elmina Business Park.
