South of Kuala Lumpur city, Taman Puncak Jalil (TPJ) formerly called Bandar Seri Bukit Jalil, is a residential township with a large commercial centre launched in 2001 and was originally developed by Talam Corporation and later with help from IJM Berhad. Covering 801 acres of leasehold land, this RM2.5 billion development, from and ailing project was rescued and even beautified to a large extent. It is surrounded by townships like Bandar Kinrara, Taman Lestari Perdana, and Equine Park with Bukit Jalil National Sports Centre in the North. A multi-racial middleclass neighbourhood, TPJ is blessed by its close proximity to lush natural forests, fresh air, peace, and quietness whilst being a relatively self-contained development with ample amenities and facilities. Its residences are well designed comprising mainly double storey linked homes and pleasant apartments and condominiums like Casa Rianna that has 360 degree views of Klang Valley besides serene views of Ayer Hitam Forest Reserve. TPJ’s shop lots are 2-storey linked units concentrated in the single sprawling commercial centre at the heart of this strategically located housing estate in between KL and Putrajaya. Its main avenues are wide, well maintained, clean with rows of trees, kerbed nature strips, and paved sidewalks, with green buffer zones of trees and shrubs. The housing streets are also wide and green with nature strips and trees but not as well maintained as the main roads. Safe whilst having low traffic most times also adds to the suitability of this township for raising families.

Amenities & Facilities

TPJ’s extensive commercial centre is well occupied by dozens of restaurants and cafes, some with unusual names like Steakghetti Steakhouse, and Hot Oven, etc. The usual 99-Speedmart, Mydin, and 7-Eleven outlets are found here also besides other grocery stores, veterinarian clinics, pet food shops, hair and beauty salons. Hong Leong Bank and Am Bank are here also while unusual businesses like Spartan Fencing Centre and Puppy.com Dog training school have sprouted up in this relatively new commercial centre. Car and motorcycle service centres are located here too while there is also a small post office further away from these shop lots. There are two Giant Hypermarkets within reasonable driving distance where residents normally do shopping at, one in South City - 9 minutes’ away, and another in Bandar Kinrara - 15 minutes away. Alice Smith School Secondary Campus and The Alice Smith international School are located respectively 10 minutes’ and 11 minutes’ drive away from TPJ. SJK (C) Bukit Serdang, SK Seksyen 1 Bandar Kinrara, and Sekolah Sukan Bukit Jalil are within or near driving distance of this area. The International Medical University is only 15 minutes’ away from this township while golf courses like the Bukit Jalil Golf and Country Club and Kinrara Golf Club are also close-by. Serdang Hospital and Columbia Hospital are within fair driving distance from TPJ while there are plenty of private clinics and dental clinics nearby in Equine Park, Bandar Putra Permai, Bandar Bukit Jalil, and Sri Kembangan.

Accessibility and Transportation

Jalan Puncak Jalil is the main road that runs through and connects this area to other townships and roads that eventually link up with highways and the rest of Klang Valley and beyond. It links to Persiaran Puncak Jalil 1 that leads eventually to Persiaran Lestari Perdana in the South-West which leads to major highways while in the North it connects to Lebuhraya Bukit Jalil that leads to the KL-Seremban Highway. There are no bus services here but there are the Sri Petaling and Bukit Jalil LRT Stations and Bukit Jalil KTM Station not too far away by car.
