About This Project

Seri Iskandar merupakan sebuah bandar baru yang pesat membangun yang terletak di daerah Perak Tengah, Perak. Ia berdekatan dengan pekan Bota, Bota Kanan, dan Tronoh. Bandar baru ini wujud berikutan pembinaan kampus Universiti Sains Malaysia cawangan Negeri Perak. USM Cawangan Negeri Perak ini kemudian ditukar kepada Universiti Teknologi Petronas.

Bandar Baru Seri Iskandar diambil bersempena nama Sultan Perak ke-30 Sultan Iskandar Shah. Sultan ini cukup termasyhur di kalangan penduduk negeri Perak kerana begitu prihatin dengan nasib rakyat sebelum Perang Dunia II. Ramai orang tua-tua terutama di Hilir Perak menyebut-nyebut tentang sultan Perak ini. Mereka menyebutnya sebagai "Sultan Iskando".
