Taman Lip Sin is a neighbourhood of several apartment residences as well as landed homes located in Sungai Nibong, Penang. The neighbourhood appears to have been around for a number of years, with many older apartment buildings within showing signs of wear. Landed homes at Taman Lip Sin comprise of single-storey and double-storey terraces, which appear to be mostly occupied. Hence, many of the homes have been well-maintained, as opposed to the apartments. Apartments on the other hand, are largely comprised of low-rise complexes, with the tallest being only 6 storeys in height. These residences mainly cater to the lower income segment of the population. Apartment units are estimated to have built-up sizes of between 550 sf to 700 sf. Amenities within Taman Lip Sin are mostly from the rows of shop lots located on the ground floors of a few apartments. These shops house businesses such as sundry shops, eateries, laundromats and even clinics, which are the most basic conveniences residents may require. Other amenities will take a few minutes’ drive to the town of Bayan Baru, where commercial hubs such as Pan Palace Plaza, Krystal Point and even Queensbay Mall can offer restaurants, banks, supermarkets, department stores, and more. Schools in the area include SRJK (C) Shih Chung, SK Bayan Baru, and SMJK Phor Tay among others. Taman Lip Sin is located a short distance from Jalan Sultan Azlan Shah and the Tun Dr. Lim Chong Eu Expressway. Hence, the first Penang bridge is a little over 5 minutes’ drive away, as with the town of Gelugor.
