PUTRAJAYA (Dec 31): A factory was sealed during an ‘Ops Bau’ inspection conducted on 106 factories in Selangor and Negeri Sembilan from Dec 23 to yesterday (Dec 30) following two incidents of odour pollution affecting water quality recently.
SEREMBAN (Dec 30): The Sungai Belihoi tributary in Mantin, polluted by the dumping of waste believed to contain chemical residue last week, is back to normal and free from pollution.
SEREMBAN (Dec 26): Forty-five factories around Nilai which produce waste solvents and oils that are pollutants have been inspected by the state Department of Environment (DoE), to date.
PUTRAJAYA (Dec 25): A total of 37 factories in Selangor were inspected in an integrated odour operation to investigate the cause of closure of the Semenyih water treatment plant and 28 premises were found to be in compliance with Environmental Quality Act 1974, said the Department of Environment (DOE).

GEORGE TOWN (Dec 22): Gamuda Bhd-led SRS Consortium will submit all three detailed environmental impact assessments (DEIAs) for land reclamation, Pan Island Link highway and rail links, as part of the RM46 billion Penang Transport Master Plan (PTMP), to the Department of Environment (DOE) by the second week of 2017.
