The solar power system, reportedly the largest in Malaysia, will cover 273,300 sq ft of the mall’s rooftop and car park, generating more than 5,700 kilowatt peak of renewable energy to power the mall.
Subscription to the new GET rates will have a lock-in period until Dec 31 every year, with automatic renewal for a one-year period if not terminated.
The latest LSS programme will introduce a new category of floating solar with a total quota of 500MW.
“Considering its significant potential, the installation of solar PV systems in residential premises should be expanded to support the government's efforts to increase RE capacity in the electricity supply system to 70% by 2050 and to reduce carbon emissions from the electricity supply sector.
"Under this programme, users can install photovoltaic (PV) solar systems on the roofs of residential premises to generate electricity for their own use and sell excess electricity to TNB [Tenaga Nasional Bhd] as energy credits.
The property developer said the project, located on 141 acres of industrial land in Desa Cemerlang, will upon completion be expected to yield 12.
Of the RM100 million contract value, RM92 million is the contract price while the remaining RM8 million is the optional items price.
The expansion of NEM also follows the recent announcement by Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim in Budget 2024 to extend the application period for the current NEM programme to end-2024, from end-2023 currently.
The total quota of 800MW under CGPP has now been fully subscribed.
