Cheras is a suburban area located in the capital city of Malaysia, Kuala Lumpur. It is nestled in the southeast region of the city. It borders Ampang to the north and Kajang to the south. Governed by the administration of Majlis Perbandaran Kajang (Kajang Municipal Council), Cheras is among the six sub-districts of Hulu Langat. And according to a poll done in 2000, relative to the other six, Cheras has the highest population density.
