Taman Melawati was developed about four decades ago, a former rubber plantation transformed into an affluent residential town.
Located on the fringe of Kuala Lumpur under the Ampang Jaya Municipal Council (MPAJ), it is one of the few areas in Selangor that holds a KL postcode but administered by the state of Selangor.
