It is one of the gateways to Pulau Tiga Survivor Island. Kuala Penyu is famous for its beaches, especially the Tempurung Beach, Sawangan Beach and Sungai Labuan Waterfront.

Menumbok is a village along the Klias Peninsular, located about 120km south of KK near the borders of Brunei and Sarawak on the Sabah's west coast. This backwater town is the primary gateway to Labuan from the mainland, providing access for both passengers and vehicles. The ferry terminal services a 16km route by sea to the island in lieu of a bridge, accepting cars and bikes by specialised transport barges that takes about two hours to traverse.
