Overview

Developed by Malayapines Estates Sdn.Bhd. (a subsidiary of IOI Properties), Bandar Puteri Klang (BPK) is a quiet and peaceful residential township. It is a multi-racial middleclass neighbourhood that is only 20 minutes from Klang town centre. The townships surrounding it include Taman Sentosa, Taman Klang Jaya and Ambang Botanik 2. BPK comprises mainly double storey homes, a section of newer triple storey houses, and 1 or 2 storey shop lots. Lebuh Pending Satu is the main road that runs from North to South through this area as well as to its other smaller section across the KESAS Highway. This main road is wide, with trees, palms, and kerbed nature strips and is well maintained. The houses here are well designed with good roads servicing it but most of the original nature strips here are paved over. Overall the streets are not that wide and spacious and lack greenery although there are a few playgrounds and open fields located at various sections of this development. Security wise, this area has certain sections which are gated and guarded while the crime rates are average compared to other townships nearby. Even though there exist many shops in its commercial centres but many of them are vacant. All in this area is considered a bit out of the way compared to other townships in Klang which have more amenities and facilities such as hospitals and schools.

Amenities & Facilities

There exists a recreational lake with a jogging path while in the playing fields of the housing areas are badminton and basketball courts. A Caltex petrol station combined with a Mcdonald’s restaurant is situated next to the main commercial centre while at the northern border of BPK there is a Shell petrol station with Subway and A&W restaurants sharing the premises too. There are some food outlets like, Restoran NZ Corner, Pizza Hut delivery and Baker’s Boy as well as a hawker centre. The retail-outlets within BPK are Cosway, Mydin, 7-Eleven, 77 My Mart, Hiap Hin Mini Market, Satu Dua AM PM Fresh Mart and others located in its main commercial centre. There is also a car wash, some tyre shops, car assessories shops, dobis, car service centres, hardware shops, kitchen cabinet showrooms, dental clinics, clinics, Polis and fire stations, as well as a maternity centre. Further away is GM Klang, Aeon Bukit Tinggi Shopping Centre, and Tesco Bukit Tinggi, 14 minutes’, 10 minutes’ and 12 minutes’ drive distance respectively while Econsave Kampung Padang Jawa is just 4 KM to 5 KM away. There is the Sentosa Specialist Hospital 11 minutes’ drive away while it takes about 15 minutes to reach the Tengku Ampuan Rahimah General Hospital from this residential enclave. Schools are a bit far away like SJK (T) Ladang Batu Ampat, SK Kampung Idaman, SK Bukit Naga, SJK Cina Hin Hua and SMJK Chung Hwa, which is a drawback for residents of BPK.

Assessibility & Transportation

Accessibility to BPK’s main area is quite adequate with one entry in the North and a second entry in the South from the KESAS Highway. For BPK’s smaller section across this highway there is the entry point from this highway also, its Western entrance road and the flyover bridge from the larger section. Because of its close proximity and ease of getting onto the KESAS Highway, this development is link conveniently to other highways which lead to other parts of Klang Valley, KL, KLIA, Putrajaya and Cyberjaya. Another thing lacking in this area is the absence of any public transportation such as buses and rail services within or even nearby this township.
