Masai

 

Overview

Masai is a town located in the Johor Bahru district in the state of Johor. It is approximately 25 kilometres from the Johor Bahru city centre.  Masai is located on route J10 which leads one to Kong Kong, which is a fishing village along the Johor River.

Accessibility and Transportation

Masai’s main access roads are Jalan Masai Lama on J10 and also the Pasir Gudang Highway along Federal Route 17. Kota Masai and Pasir Gudang are located on the east side of Masai, and the main road connecting these places with Johor Bahru is the Masai Main Street also known as Jalan Masai Lama.

Property Types

As the oldest part of Johor Bahru, Masai still contains many pre-war buildings which are relatively still well preserved. They were built to house the rubber plantation workers throughout the early and mid-20th century.

Today, this once sleepy town has undergone a huge transformation as brisk development has transformed Masai into a highly populated town in Johor.

Masai’s town centre has a multitude of amenities catering to the town’s residents. These include the Masai Chinese Primary School, Tesco, hotels as well as numerous banks including Maybank, Public Bank, Bank Rakyat and so on.
