Mersing is a town located 136 kilometres northeast in the state of Johor. This town with all its quiet charm lies on the main trunk road that connects the south and east of Johor to the east coast of the state of Pahang, and this includes Kuantan, the capital of Pahang. Mersing town is also noted for its passenger boat jetty which is the main departure point for ferries or boats departing daily for the many offshore islands such as Tioman Island which is better known as Pulau Tioman.
