Pekan Nanas (Pekan Nenas) is a town which is located in the Pontian District in the state of Johor, approximately 55 kilometres away from Singapore. The name of this town in English literally means Pineapple Town. In the past, the name of this town was derived from the seemingly endless pineapple plantations in the landscape. Nowadays however, one can find oil palm and rubber plantations interspersed among the pineapple plantations.
Previously, Pekan Nanas held the distinction as the largest exporter of pineapples and pineapple production base in Malaysia. There is also a Pineapple Museum or Muzium Nanas in this town, as well as a pineapple canning facility.
