Overview

Bandar Puncak Alam is located in Puncak Alam, a quiet township in the Ijok district of Kuala Selangor. Formerly a palm estate, Bandar Puncak Alam spans 14,000 acres and was developed as the flagship township of Ijok in the late 1990s. The masterplan development was first helmed by Bukit Cherakah Development Sdn Bhd, but was taken over by Puncak Alam Housing Sdn Bhd in 2001. Over time, various land parcels have been apportioned to third-party developers to create integrated sub-townships in the vicinity of Bandar Puncak Alam, including Alam Perdana, Alam Jaya, Ambang Suria and Shah Alam 2.

 

A popular landmark of Bandar Puncak Alam is the Universiti Teknologi Mara (UiTM) Puncak Alam campus, which accommodates 20,000 students. Launched in 2009, it is a part of the efforts by the state government of Selangor to transform Bandar Puncak Alam into the state’s designated “Education Town”, alongside Batu Berjuntai and Batu Arang.

 

Located approximately 20 km from Shah Alam and 50 km from Kuala Lumpur city centre, Bandar Puncak Alam may not hold a coveted address. However, it has already attracted major property developers who are set on offering sensibly-priced landed homes amidst verdant surroundings – providing indication that the area will be the next growth in the north-western region of the Klang Valley.

 

Amenities and Facilities

Apart from Universiti Teknologi Mara (UiTM) Puncak Alam, Bandar Puncak Alam also accommodates schools such as SK Puncak Alam and SMK Puncak Alam. Amenities in this self-sustaining township include hypermarkets the likes of Econsave and Tesco Puncak Alam in addition to commercial areas offering dining, banking and other facilities.

 

Bandar Puncak Alam is a short drive to the Puncak Alam Driving Range, Kundang Lakes Country Club, Tasik Puteri Golf and Country Club, Kelab Rahman Putra, Monterez Golf and Country Club, and Saujana Golf and Country Club. The future development of Hospital Universiti Teknologi Mara (UiTM) will offer full-fledged medical facilities to residents of Bandar Puncak Alam and its vicinity.

 

Accessibility and Transportation

Bandar Puncak Alam is accessible via the KL-Kuala Selangor Expressway (LATAR) and Guthrie Corridor Expressway, connecting Puncak Alam to various areas within the Klang Valley. Major trunk roads also make Puncak Alam accessible from neighbouring townships such as Setia Alam, Bukit Jelutong and Sungai Buloh. Connectivity to Petaling Jaya will further improve upon the completion of the proposed Damansara-Shah Alam Elevated Expressway (DASH).
