About Bandar Seri Alam

Bandar Seri Alam (BSA), covering an area of 3,762 acres (15 sq km), is a relatively new and massive township, still developing at a rapid rate. Seri Alam Properties Sdn.Bhd. (a subsidiary of United Malaysian Land Berhad) has been responsible for this development which has since become a fast rising centre of excellence for education, besides an ecology study hub, in the eastern region of Iskandar Malaysia. School age children and young adults are exposed to and benefit from all the useful and beneficial academic amenities and facilities which have caught international attention also, besides local recognition. <br/> It has a multi-racial middleclass to well to do population comprising students, academic staffers and lecturers besides families with children who are attracted to this growing and already well known township in Johor. The largely freehold land properties in BSA are mainly 1, 1 ½ & 2 storey linked houses, bungalows, 3 & 4 storey shop lots and apartments. There are natural lakes and parks, besides a golf and country club within BSA, that provide the ‘green lungs’ needed for such an extensive and populous scheme. <br/> Besides the above, numerous public, government, and private services as well as facilities are available here. There are a few projects planned or underway by the developer currently. The spacious major roads like Persiaran Seri Alam are serene and scenic whilst also being shaded by lush green trees lining them. Sidewalks and curbed nature strips are neat and tidy while most roads are wide and well maintained in the housing sections. There are still open green fields, and flora and fauna in the secondary forests existing especially near the northern border of BSA. <br/> <br/> Well known eateries like KFC, Pizza Hut, Mcdonald’s Drive-Through, Subway, and Burger King are operating within the township besides a host of other lesser known food outlets. For example, there is Restoran Zam Zam Tasek, Restoran Yuan Man, Felix Coffee Bar & Bistro Café, The Story Café, Damai Café, Restoran Tharshanan Curry House, JDT Chicken Rice Shop, and Pasta & Bite’s Station, etc, distributed amongst the string of business centres here. <br/> Maybank, Public Bank, RHB Bank, Bank Rakyat, and Bank Simpanan Nasional are located mainly around the south-eastern tip of BSA. Hotels are quite plentiful with Rose Cottage Hotel being one of the prominent ones while Pearl White Hotel is the largest. There are the usual 7-Eleven stores besides pharmacies, clinics, launderettes, auto shops, and many mini markets and grocery shops spread throughout BSA. There is a Tesco Hypermarket and a large supermarket called Jiason Supermarket besides a Today’s Market outlet here also. <br/> Government schools like SK Bandar Seri Alam, SMK Datuk Penggawa Timur, SMK Seri Alam, and SRJK (C) Nam Heng Ban, and others are located within BSA. The Japanese and Malaysian Art Schools, University Teknologi MARA (UITM), University of Kuala Lumpur (UniKL) and Masterhall University of Health Sciences are some of the main academic attractions here. There are religious houses and centres, a police state HQ and quarters, a post office, resorts, and a badminton hall besides petrol stations within BSA. <br/> <br/> Accessibility to BSA comes mainly through the southwest and south by way of Persiaran Seri Alam and Jalan Setia Alam with both linking up with the Pasir-Gudang Highway which also leads to Johor Bahru in the west to northwest. Some roads lead to nearby Universiti Teknologi MARA Pasir Gudang in the north and to other areas while Jalan Setia Alam eventually leads to the JB Coastal Road. Notably there is a taxi stand but no bus services here yet.
