<h3>Overview</h3> Located near the Southern tip of Johor state, Taman Scientex, Pasir Gudang, is a growing township sandwiched between Pasir Gudang in the South and the huge reservoirs of Sultan Iskandar in the North. It is a long narrow strip of land with its borders immediately adjacent to Taman Nusa Damai and Taman Flora heights in the West, Jalan Besar in the South, Taman Desa Rakyat Perdana in the East, and in the North are palm oil estate lands that are yet to be developed. Its developer is Scientex Berhad, a renowned manufacturing concern that had decided to go into developing some years ago. Pasir Gudang is the base for Johor’s traditional and largest cargo port not too far away from Johor Bahru city. Taman Scientex is the flagship development which Scientex Berhad undertook when they first went into this business and the project involves housing as well as commercial centres. It is a multi-racial middleclass property comprising mainly of 1 and 2 storey terrace houses, cluster houses, 2 ½ storey homes and 1 and 2 storey shop lots. Scientex Berhad had promised from the start that they would build affordable homes with quality, and that the development when fully completed, would have 13,000 homes and 400 commercial properties. This development is 45 minutes away from Senai Airport and is close to the Eastern Crowth Corridor of Iskandar Malaysia. The main avenue Jalan Persiaran Scientex is wide, spacious, neat and tidy with green buffer zones, nature strips, and kerbs, and lots of trees and palms lining it while the less important roads tend to be unkempt with greenery that is not growing too well. There are a few commercial centres here and outside this area supporting the residents of Taman Scientex. All in the houses and shops in this township are considered a good investment for the long term as this area together with surrounding areas will be developed further in future. <h3>Amenities & Facilities</h3> There are lots of mini markets here besides restaurants, offices, clinics, grocery shops, and cafes while there is Maslee Wholesale cash & carry store and a police station within this township also. In the light industry commercial centre with shops cum warehouse lots, 1 ½ storey and 2 ½ storey ones, there is a dobi, Kolej Komuniti, hardware shop, café, mini market and stationary shop besides others. While in the Southern tip of Taman Scientex there is Econsave Hypermarket and a Shell petrol station besides restaurants, hotels, coffee house, furniture shop and Wisma Scientex office. Inside as well as adjacent to Taman Scientex are a host of shops in the South-East tip with a myriad products and services from hair salons to pet shops, and tyre shops to pharmacists. Pasir Gudang Specialist Hospital, KPJ Pasir Gudang Hospital, and Pasir Gudang Government Clinic are some of the medical facilities nearby within short driving away from this development. SK Kopok Pasir Gudang, Politeknik Ibrahim Sultan, Kompleks Institusi Pendidikan Taman Scientex, SK Taman Nusa Damai, SMK Taman Nusa Damai, SK Cendana and SK Taman Bukit Dahlia are the main academic centres within and nearby this housing scheme. Meanwhile Bukit Layang Laying recreational park and Tanjung Puteri Golf Club are 3 minutes’ and 17 minutes’ drive time away only. <h3>Accessibility & Transportation</h3> The main road in Taman Scientex is Jalan Persiaran Scientex, which runs from North to the South of this township, links up with Jalan Besar in the southern tip and also with Jalan Kong Kong in the East which in-turn links up Lebuhraya Senai-Desaru in the North-East. There are, neither bus, nor rail services here, which does make this township a bit isolated.
