PETALING JAYA (July 6): Eco World International Bhd’s (EWI) maiden Melbourne project, the A$243 million Yarra One tower began construction today.

Located at South Yarra, the 26-storey tower development was launched in 2017.

It was designed by internationally-renowned Australian architecture firm Fender Katsalidis Architect and will feature 255 apartments one-, two-, and three-bedroom layouts, as well as four-bedroom penthouses.

EWI president and CEO Datuk Teow Leong Seng said the groundbreaking ceremony is a major achievement for EWI, and is the first of many iconic projects it hopes to develop to Melbourne.

“The Melbourne market is ripe with opportunity and reception towards Yarra One has been a very positive and humbling experience. We look forward to seeing the project come to life and to expand the EcoWorld brand, which is centred on livability and lifestyle to the Australian market,” he said.

Yarra One boasts an atrium that serves as a meeting place for both residents and visitors, featuring an innovative, open-air public workspace and a three-level co-working space that EWI touts as a first in Australian residential buildings.

The open-air public workspace will be located on level one and will be equipped with laptop and phone charging stations, a café and tranquil canopies of greenery.

Meanwhile, the three-level co-working space will offer meeting rooms, private offices, hot desks, communal space for collaboration, high-speed Wi-Fi, and a cosy café.

Yarra One is slated for completion by the second half of 2020.
