KUALA LUMPUR (September 13): A special task force probed 97 dubious transactions of 675.27 acres of Kuala Lumpur City Hall (DBKL) land worth RM5.63 billion.
Comprising DBKL officers and the ministry, the task force was formed on July 31.
The NST reports that Federal Territories Minister Khalid Samad revealed task force’s findings,
Khalid was quoted by the daily as saying that out of the 97 land transactions, 43 were cleared for sale by DBKL.
Out of the 97 transactions, 19 were recommended to be cancelled.
“The special task force report on the land sale probe has been given to the Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC) on Sept 4,” he said.
On the possibility of the former Federal Territories minister being involved in the suspicious deals, Khalid said that there was a possibility of the person being linked to some of these transactions.
The daily reports that Khalid declined to reveal the exact number of plots of land involved, as well as their exact locations.
Yesterday, MACC officers interviewed Council of Eminent Persons (CEP) chairman Tun Daim Zainuddin regarding his claim of 91 suspicious land transactions.
