PETALING JAYA (March 17): Some parts of Kuala Lumpur and Selangor could face water disruption tomorrow when four water treatment plants had to cease operations owing to odour pollution in Sungai Selangor, reported the Malay Mail.

According to a statement from Air Selangor, four water treatment plants had to halt operations at around 7pm when odour was found in the raw water supply from Sungai Selangor.

Air Selangor corporate communication chief Abdul Halem Mat Som said in the statement that Lembaga Urus Air Selangor, Air Selangor and “relevant authorities are conducting investigation and mitigation measures at this moment”.

As a result of the shut down of the SSP1, SSP2, SSP3 and Rantau Panjang treatment plants, unscheduled water disruption is expected at seven districts: Wilayah Persekutuan, Shah Alam/Klang, Petaling, Kuala Selangor, Hulu Selangor, Gombak and Kuala Langat.
