KUALA LUMPUR (May 18): Malaysia reported 47 new cases of Covid-19 today, bringing the total number of infections to 6,941.

Twenty-one of the new cases were imported, said health director-general Datuk Dr Noor Hisham Abdullah.

Of the 26 local cases, 17 were foreign nationals, he told a press conference.

The number of recoveries, meanwhile, rose to 5,615 after 44 patients were discharged in the 24 hours up to noon today.

No new death case was recorded today and, as such, the country’s death toll remained at 113.
