Nusajaya is the administrative capital of the state of Johor. Located west of Johor Bahru, it is also located within close proximity to the Gelang Patah and Tanjung Pelapas ports.
Accessibility and Transportation
Nusajaya is also within strategic reach of two international airports. It is 20 minutes from Johor’s Senai International Airport and 45 minutes away from Singapore’s Changi International Airport.
Officially launched on 15 February 2007 as one of Iskandar Malaysia’s five flagship zones, Nusajaya spans a whopping 24,000 acres which makes it the beyond doubt the largest urban integrated development in Southeast Asia. The other four flagship zones are Johor Bahru City, Western Gate Development, Eastern Gate Development and Senai-Skudai. Residential, commercial, tourism, education, healthcare and industrial elements are an integral part of this mammoth project.
The driving forces which propelled Nusajaya’s prominence are UEM Sunrise and Iskandar Investment. By working closely with the Iskandar Regional Development Authority (IRDA), other stakeholders as well as global investment partners, this led to the successful delivery of an ambitious development project.
The signature developments within Nusajaya include Kota Iskandar (the state of Johor’s new administrative centre), the Southern Industrial and Logistic Clusters (SiLC), EduCity, Afiat Healthpark, Legoland, Puteri Harbour Waterfront Development, International Destination Resort and the Nusajaya Residences.
It was announced in December 2015 that Nusajaya is to be renamed Iskandar Puteri from 2016.
