KUALA LUMPUR (Jan 25): The Federal Territories' Legasi Residensi Kampung Baru Affordable Homes under the Rumah Mampu Milik Wilayah Persekutuan (Rumawip) project here is expected to be ready by next year, according to a Bernama report yesterday.

The units will be offered at the price of RM300,000 each to Kampung Baru residents.

Bernama also reported that Federal Territories Minister Datuk Seri Tengku Adnan Tengku Mansor said the project comprised 206 units.

They are sized at 807 sq m with three bedrooms and two bathrooms and come with condominium standard facilities such as parking lots, playgrounds and kindergartens.

Tengku Adnan said last year the government was committed to find ways to help the people own homes such as offering appropriate incentives to developers.

Up to 80,000 units of affordable houses will be built in the Federal Territory under the Rumawip scheme by 2018, with 50,000 to be built in Kuala Lumpur.

As at December 2016, 52,562 units have been constructed.
