KUALA LUMPUR (Feb 28): Ireka Corp Bhd has been awarded a fixed price lump sum design-and-build contract worth RM60.8 million from Malaysia Packaging Industry Bhd (MPI).

Under the contract, Ireka Corp would undertake the construction of industrial facilities for production, warehousing and storage of goods, with office facilities and car park space, at an industrial factory lot in Kajang, Selangor.

Its wholly-owned subsidiary, Ireka Engineering & Construction Sdn Bhd, inked the contract agreement with MPI on Feb 24.

According to its filing with Bursa Malaysia, the contract period is about 11 months, starting from Feb 24. Completion is expected on Jan 15, 2018.

The contract is anticipated to contribute positively to Ireka Corp’s earnings for the financial year ending March 31, 2018.
