KUALA LUMPUR (March 29): Majuperak Holdings Bhd has appointed Rustam Apandi Jamaludin as managing director and group chief executive officer (CEO) effective from April 1, replacing Datuk Jamal Mohd Aris who resigned earlier this month.

In a filing with Bursa Malaysia yesterday, Majuperak said Rustam Apandi, 56, is currently the general manager of business operation and the acting deputy CEO of the Perak State Development Corp (PKNP).

Rustam Apandi, who previously held positions in Bank Muamalat Malaysia Bhd, Malaysian Rating Corp Malaysia and BSN Commercial Bank (M) Bhd, will also be appointed as executive director.

Citing personal matters, Jamal, 53, left the company on March 3.

Majuperak, principally engaged in property development and provision of management contract services, is 46.76% controlled by PKNP.

Majuperak’s share price closed 0.5 sen or 1.5% lower at 32 sen yesterday, with 20,000 shares traded, for a market capitalisation of RM63.5 million. — theedgemarkets.com
