KUALA LUMPUR (May 5): Mah Sing Group Bhd today launched its two-month celebration cum sales campaign, which will see the group give away up to RM23 million worth of rewards to ease home ownership for its customers.

The rewards will come in the form of luxury cars, deferred payments, lucky dips, cashback awards, foreign levy absorption, and free stamp duty on memorandum of transfer, among others.

"At the end of the day, we want our customers to be able to afford a home. It is important for everyone to own their home as early in their lives as possible because homes are assets which will appreciate in value over time," said the group's chief executive officer Datuk Ho Hon Sang at the campaign's launch today.

The campaign, which began on May 1, will run until June 30 or until all of the RM23 million has been given out — whichever comes first — and it is in conjunction with the group's 23rd anniversary.

"We want to be very practical, which is why we decided to launch the RM23 million Celebration Rewards campaign. Instead of organising lavish events, we give the money directly back to our customers," says Ho.

He added that the campaign is aimed more towards the group's younger demographic of home owners, those aged 40 and below, which make up about 70% of the group's buyers profile.

"The [property] market has been a bit challenging, so we would like to facilitate easy ownership for our customers, [particularly the younger demographic]," he added.

On the group's future plans, Ho said it will continue to focus on affordable housing projects over the next two years.

At 11.43am, Mah Sing gained 0.67% or 1 sen to RM1.51 with 1.19 million shares traded. — theedgemarkets.com
