JOHOR BAHRU (JUNE 14): The superstructure of the first high-rise premium office building developed by Medini Iskandar Malaysia Sdn Bhd (MIM) in Medini City, Johor has been completed.
The completion of Medini 9’s superstructure was marked by a topping- off ceremony yesterday at the rooftop of the 21-storey building.
MIM told TheEdgeProperty.com that Medini 9 will be completed and operational sometime in 2018.
“Medini 9 is the first high-rise premium office building developed by MIM, located in Medini City, the Central Business District of Iskandar Puteri. I am delighted to announce the completion of the Medini 9 superstructure, which will further boost the confidence level of developers, investors and prospects of Medini City. Our strong commitment to deliver good quality building in a timely manner has made it possible for us to celebrate this special occasion,” said MIM managing director and chief executive officer James Tee in a statement today.
He added that Medini 9 was designed and developed in accordance with the MSC Malaysia Cybercentre-status building standards established by the Malaysia Digital Economy Corp (MDEC).
“The MSC Malaysia Cybercentre-status, which was granted recently to Medini City, covers an area of 31.5 acres. This will further enhance Medini City as a Central Business District capable of attracting international and local companies particularly those in the global business services and information and communication technologies sectors,” James said.
In addition to its MSC Malaysia Cybercentre-status, Medini City also boasts high-speed internet, green building certification, and close proximity to Tuas Singapore Customs, Immigration and Quarantine, Senai International Airport, and Changi International Airport.
Surrounded by lush greenery such as the 50-acre connected central park, Medini 9 is a suitable location for small to large-sized corporations seeking a prominent business address in a premium and strategic location.
Medini 9 is the third office building developed by MIM after Medini 6 and Medini 7.
Also present at the topping-off ceremony were MIM’s director Datuk Khairil Anwar Ahmad and Bina Puri Construction Sdn Bhd director Datuk Henry Tee.
At yesterday’s event, MIM also presented Bina Puri a certificate of recognition for its “One Million Man Hours Without Lost Time Injury” achievement that is in line with MIM’s vision and policy to ensure a safe workplace at all its construction and development sites.
