KUALA LUMPUR (July 28): A dozen Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC) officers conducted a raid at Balai Felda, Jalan Gurney at 10am today over Felda Investment Corporation Sdn Bhd's (FIC) purchase of a hotel in Kuching, the New Straits Times reported today.

This is MACC’s second visit to the office after it launched investigations into FIC’s purchase of a RM330 million four-star hotel in Kensington, London.

The MACC said in a statement yesterday that the four-star hotel located in Kuching, Sarawak, is believed to have been bought at a price significantly higher than its actual market price.

The New Straits Times reported that the anti-graft body also carried out another raid at the law firm of Mohamed Ridza & Co (MRCO) at Wisma UOB Damansara here today.

Four officers from the MACC arrived at the law firm’s office at 10am and it is believed that the raid was conducted to seize documents related to the purchase of a four-star hotel in Kensington, London, by FIC, the daily reported.

Last week, the MACC arrested two real estate executives over the FIC's London hotel deal.

The hotel was purchased at a higher price which saw the FIC losing millions of ringgit.

The two men allegedly manipulated the price of the hotel.
