KUALA LUMPUR (July 31): AWC Bhd has bagged a RM42.4 million subcontract from the Public Works Department (JKR) to undertake facilities management of Kompleks Kementerian Luar Negeri in Putrajaya.

In a filing with Bursa Malaysia today, AWC said the subcontract is for a period of five years from Aug 1, 2017 to July 31, 2022.

"Ambang Wira Sdn Bhd, a wholly-owned subsidiary of AWC, a part of our facilities division, has, on today’s date, accepted and returned the government’s letter for acceptance of tender dated July 28, 2017," AWC noted.

"These terms are to be embodied in a formal contract to be executed between both parties imminently. In the meantime, the tender submitted and the letter for acceptance of tender are binding on both parties," AWC added.

AWC said the latest job is in addition to the maintenance works undertaken by AWC Group under the concession from the federal government for the southern zone (Johor, Melaka and Negeri Sembilan) and Sarawak for a 10-year period from Jan 1, 2016 to Dec 31, 2025.

"The securing of the subcontract further enhances the facilities division and indeed AWC Group’s overall existing order book," the filing added.

AWC shares closed unchanged at RM1.13 today, for a market capitalisation of RM300.46 million.— theedgemarkets.com
