Sime Darby Property is the most awarded developer at CIDB’s Qlassic Excellence Award 2017

PETALING JAYA (Aug 22): Sime Darby Property has bagged 13 quality building awards at the Qlassic Excellence Award 2017, making it the developer with the most wins at this year’s event.

Sime Darby Property was among developers and contractors of 43 projects that received awards for quality and excellence during the event organised by the Construction Industry Development Board Malaysia (CIDB).

The Quality Assessment System in Construction (Qlassic) is a system that measures and evaluates the workmanship quality of a building construction work based on the Construction Industry Standard (CIS 7:2006).

Qlassic assessments are carried out through site inspections and are based on the principles of first time inspection. Construction works that are rectified after an assessment will not be re-assessed.

The property arm of Sime Darby Bhd was awarded for various products in its townships including Bandar Bukit Raja and City of Elmina in Selangor; and Bandar Ainsdale and Nilai Impian in Negeri Sembilan. A commercial development in Ara Damansara, Selangor by its subsidiary company, Sime Darby Brunsfield, also received an award.

CIDB also presented Sime Darby Property with a special appreciation award for being the developer with the most wins.

In a press release today, the company’s chief operating officer Datuk Wan Hashimi Albakri said: “Quality is at the heart of what we do in Sime Darby Property because it is what our customers deserve. We would like to thank the CIDB for this honour, which is indeed a motivation for us to continually deliver products that are of the highest quality and standards to our customers.”

“We implement strict internal quality measures to complement the external assessment by CIDB through QLASSIC. These awards further highlight the outstanding efforts by the Sime Darby Property team, whose hard work and commitment has produced exceptional results despite a challenging market environment,” added Wan Hashimi.

According to the developer, its Qlassic results have improved year-on-year. Qlassic is one of the final stages in Sime Darby Property’s product quality assessment system, following its own stringent internal assessments.
