KUALA LUMPUR (Aug 25): AWC Bhd has secured a RM31.74 million contract from the Public Works Department (PWD) to manage the facilities of a building complex in Putrajaya which houses the Ministry of Communications and Multimedia Malaysia (MCMM).
AWC’s wholly-owned subsidiary Ambang Wira Sdn Bhd accepted and responded to the Letter for Acceptance of tender today, the company said in a filing with the stock exchange.
The contract involves a five-year maintenance period from Sept 1, 2017 to Aug 31, 2022 and covers all the blocks utilised and occupied by the MCMM, AWC said.
It represents the third contract from PWD as it also has an ongoing concessions from the Federal Government for southern states of Peninsular Malaysia (namely Negeri Sembilan, Melaka, and Johor), and the state of Sarawak.
“This award further enhances the Facilities Division and the group’s overall existing order book and is expected to contribute positively to the Group’s earnings,” AWC said.
Shares in AWC closed one sen lower at RM1.12 apiece, valuing the group at RM299.19 million. — theedgemarkets.com
