KUALA LUMPUR (Aug 29): Mulpha International Bhd returned to the black in the second quarter ended June 30, 2017, chalking a pre-tax profit of RM90.24 million compared with a pre-tax loss of RM22.40 million registered over the same period last year, Bernama reported.

Revenue, however, slipped to RM202.62 million from RM205.48 million previously, the company said in a filing to Bursa Malaysia today.

It said the lower revenue was due mainly to the temporary closure of the Hayman Island Resort following Cyclone Debbie on March 27.

The significant improvement in pre-tax profit was attributed to an increased share of associate’s profits by RM74.33 million and higher contributions from the divisions, including the property and hospitality, Bernama reported.
