KUALA LUMPUR (Sept 19): MyHSR Corp Sdn Bhd and Singapore’s Land Transport Authority (LTA) are inviting companies specialising in ticketing and fare collections to share their latest technologies and developments that could be best suited in developing a “robust approach” for the upcoming Kuala Lumpur-Singapore High Speed Rail (HSR) project.

“Companies with expertise in ticketing and fare collections are invited to attend the discussions to be held in Kuala Lumpur on Oct 9 and 10,” said the two transport regulatory agencies which are responsible for the implementation of the HSR project.

In a joint statement today, they said they “envisage a passenger-friendly ticketing system that incorporates the latest ticketing technology”.

MyHSR Corp and LTA added that the ticketing and fare collection should also ensure “seamless travel” throughout the high speed rail ecosystem, taking into consideration the cross-border elements of the project, as well as separate operators for the international and domestic services.

“Inputs from the discussions will be taken into consideration when MyHSR Corp and LTA structure the ticketing and fare collection ecosystem, including how the assets company and operating companies are involved in the ticketing process,” the two agencies said. — theedgemarkets.com
