Kota Damansara

PETALING JAYA (Nov 17): Tropicana Corp Bhd (Tropicana) refuted claims that a fire that broke out earlier this week had affected 90% of their Tropicana Gardens construction site, saying only a “minimal area” was impacted.

The authorities are still investigating the cause of the fire at the Tropicana Gardens construction site at Kota Damansara, it said in a press release today.

“The fire occurred at the construction site was under the purview of the main contractor and is away from the completed residential towers.

“Tropicana confirms that the construction of the development will resume upon the approval of the authorities,” it said.

A fire broke out at the construction site of the 17-acre mixed-use Tropicana Gardens development on Nov 13 at 2.10pm.

The situation was contained in an hour and no casualties were reported.

The leasehold Tropicana Gardens development features four blocks of serviced apartments and will also include offices and a five-level mall.

It is directly connected to the Surian station along the mass rapid transit (MRT) line and is seven stops away from KL Sentral.
