KUALA LUMPUR (Dec 11): Malaysian Government-owned MyHSR Corp Sdn Bhd's International Union of Railways (UIC) membership will enable MyHSR to propose new ways to improve technical and environmental performance of rail transport.

MyHSR is Malaysia's project delivery vehicle for the planned Kuala Lumpur-Singapore High Speed Rail project. In a statement today, MyHSR said it received its UIC membership during the 91st UIC General Assembly in Paris, France last week.

Today, MyHSR CEO Datuk Mohd Nur Ismal Mohamed Kamal said in the statement that the UIC membership enables MyHSR "to work closely with international industry players to be able to influence policies on issues such as mobility, sustainable development and the environment, and tackle future challenges of the railway industry together".

"Incorporated since 1922, UIC is a worldwide professional association representing the railway sector and promoting rail transport globally, by developing and facilitating all forms of international cooperation among members and sharing best practices," Mohd Nur Ismal said. — theedgemarkets.com
