KL Monorail

KUALA LUMPUR (Jan 24): Prasarana Malaysia Bhd said Rapid KL Monorail Line has temporarily suspended operations of its four-car train sets for safety checks.

Rapid KL Monorail chief operating officer Mohd Ariffin Idris said in the statement that it had decided today to carry out safety checks on the four sets of four-car trains. Mohd Ariffin said only two-car train sets (pictured) are currently in service, providing a headway of 13 minutes.

“In the temporary unavailability of the four-car trains, Rapid KL has deployed shuttle bus services along the monorail alignment for the convenience of commuters. Fare is RM1 per trip with a headway of 15 minutes, subject to traffic conditions.

“Rapid KL apologises for the inconvenience caused but the decision had to be taken as there is no compromise on safety,” he said. — theedgemarkets.com
