AmFIRST REIT appoints Azlan Baqee as new COO

KUALA LUMPUR (Feb 22): Azlan Baqee Abdullah has been appointed as the new chief operating officer (COO) of AmFIRST Real Estate Investment Trust (AmREIT).

In a filing with Bursa Malaysia, AmREIT said Azlan has been the COO of Amcorp Properties Bhd (AmProp), a listed subsidiary of Amcorp Group, since last year.

"He was involved in expanding AmProp's property sector by venturing into overseas markets and acts as the principal liaison officer with reputable joint venture partners such as Temasek Holdings of Singapore and Grosvenor Group of UK," the group said.

Currently, Azlan is an exco member of AmREIT Managers Sdn Bhd and a board member of the subsidiaries within Amcorp and AmProp groups. He was appointed to the Board of AmBank Islamic Bhd in July 2017 and is a member of the Board Credit Committee of AmBank Islamic.  — theedgemarkets.com
