PETALING JAYA (April 12): UEM Sunrise Bhd’s first project in Australia, Conservatory in Melbourne, is now in the completion stage, with apartment units from the first phase to be handed over to purchasers beginning end-September.

UEM Sunrise’s managing director and CEO Anwar Syahrin Abdul Ajib said Conservatory marks a milestone for the developer, whose Aurora Melbourne Central mixed-use development is set to be handed over to purchasers from 3Q18 onwards and Mayfair will see its site works commence this year.

“Conservatory is an integral part of Melbourne’s history, too. Before construction began, we engaged an archaeological consultant for an archaeological excavation of the site. They uncovered over 250,000 artifacts, dating back to the early gold rush in the 1800s when the site was the Mistletoe Hotel,” he said in a press statement today.

A total 477 pieces of artifacts – such as gold accessories, everyday items and luxurious glassware – which were excavated at the project’s site, will be displayed in purpose-built glass cases in the foyer of the building, which the public can view from the Bell Place Laneway.

Representatives from UEM Sunrise and Hickory Group recently celebrated the topping out ceremony of Conservatory.

With construction started in 2013, the A$300 million (about RM901 million) luxury residential development is located at Mackenzie Street in Melbourne.

Conservatory offers 446 units of 1-, 2- and 3-bedroom residences with four levels of residential facilities including a pool, gymnasium, golf simulator, yoga zone, BBQ pit, entertainment deck, private cinema and two expansive Jacuzzis on the Level 42 Carlton Skydeck.

Hickory Group managing director Michael Argyrou said the company will help maintain the quality of Conservatory for years to come, and assure owners that their assets will be protected and operating efficiently.
