Yeow Wai Siaw is new Tropicana group CEO

KUALA LUMPUR (May 28): Property developer Tropicana Corp Bhd has appointed Yeow Wai Siaw as its group CEO, effective today.

Yeow, 53, has over 20 years of working experience and has held various key positions mainly in manufacturing and real estate industry companies in Malaysia, said Tropicana in a filing to Bursa Malaysia today.

Yeow is replacing Datuk Yau Kok Seng, who retired on Nov 30 due to health reasons. Yau has held the position since January 2013, Tropicana said.

He has also served as an associate consultant in McKinsey & Company and was formerly a non-independent non-executive director of Hafary Holdings Ltd from 2015 to 2017, as well as the former managing director and independent non-executive director of GuocoLand (Malaysia) Bhd from 2010 to 2012.

Shares in Tropicana closed unchanged at 90.5 sen today, for a market capitalisation of RM1.32 billion. — theedgemarkets.com
