SANDAKAN (June 1): The family staying in a seven-room house in the coastal Sim Sim Water Village managed to escape unhurt when the house collapsed into the sea early today.

All 27 occupants got out of the house around 2.30am after they heard the sound of wood snapping in the kitchen area and felt the house wobble, said house-owner Imbran Kumit to Bernama, adding that he suspected several stilts of the house, built over water, could have snapped.

It took a mere several minutes for the house to collapse into the water, he added.
